I have a UV filter that's come loose from its housing and now rattles every time it moves. Is there any way to fix this without messing it up?

What I you could try is: Bending the ring so that it fits with the glas again. Mabye some clear glue could also help out?

Another idea would be to purchase a new UV filter, these don't cost that much anymore..

If its just rattling and not loss of coverage over the lens itself, I'd either just deal with the noise or purchase a new filter.

I don't recommend trying to fix them, however if you do, take care that you don't distort the threads on the filter which in turn will distort the threads on the lens (especially plastic!).

I've got UVs or neturals on almost every lens I have, just so they (not the lens) take abuse and dirt. Most of them rattle a little bit, which just tells me it was a good idea to protect the lens in the first place :)
