Hello guys!

I am currently having trouble deciding for a good "overall" macro lens for a canon EF-S body.

What are your recommendations?

I'd heartily recommend the Canon EF100 f/2.8, which has the advantage over the EF-S lens of being compatible with full frame cameras, should you want to dabble with film, or upgrade to a 5D/1Ds. You can pick one up in the UK new for about £425-£450

If money was no object, there is a dedicated MP-E65 which can offer between 1 and 5 times life size reproduction on the sensor.

EDIT: I've included one of my photos taken with the EF100/2.8 on a Canon 20D on another answer

Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8

Are there more options than the 60mm? Something with a bigger focal range? – admin Oct 7 at 20:13
